a short introduction

hello,

i am a freshman at the university of cincinnati's design architecture art and planning program (dAAp) majoring in fashion design. i have finally decided to organize the files in my macbook and begin a fashion blog. im using this to catalog my own thoughts as well as display ideas and inspiration and things i learn along the way. i model for the senior thesis fashion design students (year 5) and i pick up a lot - upcoming trends, insider information on shows from the professor, and all sorts of neat things my three designers show me. and because of my heavy interest in fashion, i thought it might be valuable not only to myself but to others if i did something with all of that.

so heres a little bit about me to get started with.

my friends call me a "clean cut, classic girl"; i have a feminine aesthetic with a slight undertone of edginess. my favourite colours are white, then black, then highlighter yellow; my own personal preferences tend towards very feminine, classic shapes and silhouettes, dark colours, and then elements of deconstruction, like exposed zippers and unfinished hems. ive been sewing and designing for a few years now, and i cant wait to begin doing it for school - which will be year 2 for me, beginning in the fall.

and a bit more personally, my name is rachel. i live in a dorm with three roommates who couldnt have worked out more perfectly. i have a boyfriend named eric who is making my life more like a dream every day; im a naturally optimistic person and i love life and its details.
